President Signs the Law on Digital Mining Taxation

The law will come into force on January 1, 2022.

The tax rate will be 1 tenge per 1 kWh of consumed energy. The tax calculating will take place every quarter. Article 606-1 of the new edition of the Tax Code states, "The authorized body in the field of cybersecurity, every quarter and no later than the 15th day of the second month following the reporting quarter, submits information about the payers to the authorized body." Article 606-2 establishes that taxpayers are digital miners.
