Kazakhstan Ranks Third in Global Bitcoin Mining

Date: 16.07.2021

According to the study of the University of Cambridge, Kazakhstan ranked third in the world ranking.

The share of Kazakhstan in the world bitcoin mining increased six times from 1.4% to 8.2% in April this year. The researchers associate it with the pressure of the PRC authorities concerning their domestic crypto industry. Thus, China's share fell from 75.5% in September 2019 to 46% in April 2021.

Also, growth was noted in the United States, whose share increased four times from 4.1% to 16.8%. Thus, the United States ranks second in the rating. Russia and Iran rank fourth and fifth accordingly.

Considering the suspension of miners' activities in the Sichuan province and later throughout China, we may assume that Kazakhstan will rank second in June-July 2021.
