The IFC hosted a meeting dedicated to accelerating the development of the country's energy sector

The main purpose of the event was to discuss systemic problems and barriers preventing the successful implementation of investment projects in the electric power sector.

First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nazira Nurbayeva and Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sungat Yessimkhanov in their welcoming speech shared their vision regarding ways to solve urgent problems.
Business leaders, representatives of the quasi-public sector and government agencies took part in the discussion on improving the investment climate in the energy sector of Kazakhstan. Their presentations touched upon key aspects of the energy industry, and they also proposed constructive solutions for further development.
On the part of the Chairman of the KABT, special attention was paid to the issues of interaction between renewable energy sources (RES) and miners. The initiatives and ideas proposed by the participants will be included in the agenda of future discussions.
All identified problems, as well as suggestions for their solution, have been digitized in detail. The relevant documents will be sent to the responsible departments to take the necessary measures and improve the current state of Kazakhstan's energy sector.
