Date: 03.06.2022

Chairman of the Presidium of the Kazakhstan Association of Blockchain Technologies Islambek Salzhanov met with the founder of the largest crypto exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ). On his Facebook page, Islambek Tuleubaevich writes the following:

"As official sources have already reported, the founder and CEO of the world's largest crypto exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao, is visiting Kazakhstan. He visited the AIFC, Astana hub and the new blockchain center Paxaro labs. Today he was received by President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and discussed with him the possibility of creating a regional hub of the crypto industry in Kazakhstan. The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry and Binance in the presence of the President marked the beginning of a new stage in the development of digital finance in the country.

As Chairman of the Presidium of the Kazakhstan Association of Blockchain Technologies, today I met with Mr. Changpeng Zhao and discussed further prospects for the development of the crypto industry in our country. During the meeting, Mr. Zhao spoke about his intention to provide advisory assistance to our government agencies on the development of a legislative framework and regulatory policy in the field of crypto assets, as well as public involvement in the crypto industry.

I am glad that Changpeng Zhao plans to obtain a license for Binance in Kazakhstan as well. Binance is a global leader among crypto exchanges, so their willingness to help young talents from Astana Hub reach the global level should spur our crypto industry market. Let me remind you that Kazakhstan is one of the leaders in this area. State support is key for us. It is thanks to the decisions of the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that we were among the first in the world to legalize digital mining.

I am sure that Kazakhstan has a real chance to become a regional hub in this area, and following the example of Binance, other leaders of the crypto industry will come to our country. For our part, we will make every effort to implement the proposals voiced today."
